"Sativus" a Latin word meaning cultivated

From Ghaen to the world: saffron and botanicals for nutraceuticals, cosmetics, and beyond.

what we do

At Sativus NV, we are dedicated to producing and sourcing some of the world’s most prized natural ingredients. Our heritage is rooted in the cultivation of the Crocus Sativus flower (saffron) and thBerberis Vulgaris shrub (barberry) in Ghaen, as well as the production of the finest caviar from our private farm near the Caspian Sea in the village of Sari.

Beyond saffron and barberry, we also develop and source premium botanical ingredients, including black lime and guava leaves from Nigeria.

Our saffron is grown in the Khorasan province, where the unique climate and abundant sunlight create ideal conditions for cultivation. Harvesting this rare spice is a painstaking process—requiring around 190 flowers for just one gram of saffron.

We oversee the entire journey, from cultivation and packaging to laboratory testing, ensuring every step meets the highest standards. All of our independent testing facilities comply with ISO 3632-1:2011 and ISO 3632-2:2010, meeting European regulations and upholding ethical sourcing practices in Iran.

By working directly with farmers, we provide full traceability and transparency. As one of the few companies qualified to test Iranian saffron for pesticide residues under European Regulation 396/2005, we are proud to guarantee exceptional quality, safety, and authenticity for our customers worldwide.

Mission : To satisfy  the needs of  our customers with respect to quality over quantity.
